More than 100 firefighters respond to East New York house fire

The city's Department of Buildings issued a vacate order for one of the homes.

The FDNY says the fire broke out around 5:25 p.m. Thursday at 505 Chestnut St. and spread to the home next door.

Residents tell News 12 the entire experience was terrifying.
The Red Cross was on the scene helping residents. There is no word at this time on what caused the fire.
