A Bronx man was killed in a motorcycle crash near the Macombs Dam Bridge on Saturday morning, according to the NYPD.
It happened at around 4:20 a.m. on the Major Deegan Expressway. Investigators say 24-year-old Shah Ahsan Ardi, of Wakefield, was riding northbound when he lost control and struck a guardrail.
The impact threw Ardi off the bike and onto the expressway, according to police.
The NYPD says he suffered severe trauma to the body. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
All northbound lanes of the expressway near the bridge were closed for about four hours as the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad investigated the incident.
The lanes reopened at around 9 a.m.
