A Bronx man accused of carrying out a
shooting in Highbridge that killed his neighbor and wounded two women has been indicted on several charges, including murder and weapon possession, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
Render Burns, 40, is accused of opening fire outside 1440 University Ave. just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 7.
Police say 43-year-old Curtis Quinones was shot in the head just steps from both men's homes. A 65-year-old woman was shot in the leg, while a 52-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the leg.
All three victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital.
Quinones died from his injuries on Sept. 12. His death was ruled a homicide.
Burns was arrested Oct. 1, nearly a month after the shooting. He was initially charged with murder, manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Burns remains in jail and is expected back in court later this month.
It remains unclear what sparked the deadly shooting.
