A man is in critical condition after being shot in the head in Co-op City, according to police.

The NYPD says a 24-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot at around 7:30 p.m. on Debs Place, a dead-end street inside Co-op City.

There is a bike located at the scene but at this hour, its involvement with the shooting is unknown.

Police say they're searching for a man who ran off with a black and white backpack.
