A former NYPD officer who plead guilty to child porn charges will spend 23 years in prison.

Carmine Simpson was accused of posing as a teen on social media, having children as young as 13 send him sexually explicit videos and pictures.

Prosecutors also say he told the children to physically harm themselves.

He resigned from the NYPD in 2022.
