A disturbing sex trafficking ring was uncovered in the Bronx. Ten people are facing charges for their involvement, which included the exploitation of a teenager for sex.
The Bronx District Attorney's Office announced a 79-count indictment that included charges of rape, sex trafficking of a child, promoting prostitution and use of a child in a sexual performance, among other charges.
Tesean Green, 48, from the Bronx, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex trafficking in New Jersey and is awaiting arraignment on this case. Green is alleged to have used a dating app where he met the 16-year-old victim in November 2022.
"Our victim in this case was recruited on a dating app called Tagged, he began pimping her out, trafficking her shortly after that, she didn't know she was going to be trafficked, but she knew she was talking to a real person who said listen I can help you out," said Stephen Knoepfler, assistant district attorney and the chief of the Human Trafficking Unit at the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
Green is accused of trafficking the teen in New York and New Jersey and drugging her with ecstasy before dates, then taking her earnings. Prosecutors allege he worked in partnership with his uncle, 37-year-old Joshua Green, from the Bronx, who forced the victim to sell crack-cocaine to 'John's' or clients.
Prosecutors say in one case, Tesean Green fractured the victim's jaw in a hotel room after beating her. They say he also used the victim to help him recruit dozens of women from across the country to work for him.
The victim escaped her traffickers but was later trafficked by another pair in October 2023.
Jamel Cameron, 30, from Queens and Brianna Jamison, 27, from Queens, allegedly trafficked the 16-year-old victim out of the Holiday Motel off the New England Thruway.
Prosecutors say Cameron and Jamison used online commercial sex advertisements to solicit her for sex.
"Jamel Cameron used violence to keep the victim in line. He brandished a gun when she told him she didn't want to work for him anymore," said Knoepfler.
Knoepfler says the vulnerability of needing help is what traffickers feed off of to find their victims.
"If a person is a teenager and they run away from home, they are very at risked of being trafficked, they will be approached on a park bench, they will be approached in the subway by someone offering them a place to stay, and when someone offers them a place to stay, there is strings attached," said Knoepfler.
The Bronx District Attorney's Office received 236 human trafficking referrals from July 2020 to March 31, 2025. Authorities say that number is likely higher, as many cases go unreported.
"That traumatic bond that makes them likely to return and forgive their trafficker and not want to tell the truth about what's happening to them," said Knoepfler.
Traffickers are also targeting young victims through online social media platforms. The DA's office recommends parents to monitor their children's online activity, set their social media accounts to private and encourage their kids to not interact with any strangers online.
The victim in this case is now receiving support services through the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
