A 42-year-old woman was killed and a teenage boy was injured during a stabbing inside a residential building in Concourse Village early Saturday morning.
Police say it happened just before 7 a.m. on the third floor of a building on Sherman Avenue.
Officers responded to a 911 call and found 42-year-old Yesenia Hall and a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds to the neck.
Both were rushed to the hospital, where Hall was pronounced dead. The teen was listed in stable condition as of Saturday evening.
A blood trail could be seen leading through the hallway, and a knife stained with blood was found just outside the apartment.
Neighbors say they were shocked by the violence. One woman who lives next door said her daughter heard screaming but did not see what happened. She also said there had been previous disturbances coming from the apartment.
Police say a man fled the scene.
No arrests had been made as of Saturday evening.
It was not immediately clear what led to the stabbing.
