A woman was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Norwood, police say.
The NYPD's Warrant Squad took 22-year-old Diora Teal into custody around 2:30 p.m. Monday and charged her with murder for her alleged role in the killing of 23-year-old Jaden Purvis.
Police say Teal lives steps from the scene of the shooting, which happened near East 207 Street and Decatur Avenue.
Officers found Purvis with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso just after midnight on June 8. Paramedics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.
Witnesses told News 12 that they saw a woman holding a child and crying after the shooting. Her connection to the incident and to Purvis, if any, remains unclear.
Police previously released images of two people wanted in connection to the homicide, both of whom they described as males. They say those two remain on the run, as well as one other whose description was not provided.
As for Teal, she faces additional charges including manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Information about her role in Purvis' death was not immediately made available.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the NYPD.
