A video shared with News 12 shows Brooklyn Council Member Chi Ossé being arrested by police during an attempted eviction of a deed theft advocate.

In a statement posted on X, the Councilman states he he was arrested for defending Carmella Charrington from eviction from her home. Charrington was taken into custody Thursday during an appearance at Kings County Civil Supreme Court in connection to the conservatorship of her father in Georgia. She was just released on Tuesday evening.

CM Ossé is currently being held at the 79th precinct.
