Fair Fares Enrollment Change; New E-bike Laws Considered at City Hall
A transit program that offers half-priced rides to New Yorkers with low income has expanded. But data from City Hall shows not everyone who qualifies is taking advantage of the program.
As a result, city leaders voted to pass a bill to make enrollment in the program easier, streamlining the process for those who are already signed up for certain government assistance, like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Brooklyn Council Member Crystal Hudson, who represents District 35 in the borough, spoke with News 12's Heather Fordham about the changes. Hudson also discussed the big push to prevent the sale of certain Class 3 e-bikes in the city.
Call For Affordable Housing Development
Affordable housing remains one of the biggest challenges that New Yorkers face.
