While you’re putting away your Halloween decorations, the city can help you “pitch your pumpkins” and help the environment.

Operation Pumpkin Drop has kicked off in Battery Park. Just leave your pumpkins in gray bins throughout the park.

They’ll be composted and used to make soil fertilizer.

The annual collection program runs through Nov. 17.
