Authorities say it happened shortly after 1:40 a.m.
Officers responded to the scene at 2765 Sampson Ave. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was hospitalized and then pronounced dead.
Police say no arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
