2 firefighters hurt in massive building fire in Crotona Park East

Officials say two firefighters were injured after a fire burned through an apartment building in Crotona Park East early this morning.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the building located between 173rd Street and Southern Boulevard.
The FDNY says a call was reported for smoke from an apartment.
A total of 25 units responded to the scene.
The fire was placed under control around 4:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross says they are aiding 9 people who have been displaced by the fire.
Any residents displaced by the fire who did not connect with Red Cross responders while they were on scene should call 877-REDCROSS (option 1) for assistance.
