An unknown driver is accused of causing an accident on the Bronx River Parkway and then fleeing the scene late Tuesday morning.
The FDNY says the accident happened just before 11 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway near Exit 7E.
Two cars were damaged in the crash: a white Lexus and a gray Volkswagen.
A News 12 crew on the scene found the Lexus under an overpass waiting to be towed Tuesday afternoon. The Volkswagen sustained extensive front-end damage and was at the site of the crash.
Family members of the Lexus driver told News 12 he was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries but is expected to recover.
The driver of the Volkswagen, who remained at the scene, says another driver abruptly moved across lanes, brake-checked traffic and triggered the crash before continuing down the parkway.
No serious injuries were reported.
The driver who allegedly caused the crash had not been located as of Tuesday afternoon.
