The driver who slammed into multiple cars in Melrose Friday afternoon is recovering in the hospital, police say.

The chaotic scene unfolded near East 151st Street and Melrose Avenue just before 2:45 p.m.

Citizen app video shows a gray SUV mangled on the sidewalk, a damaged white van in the middle of the intersection and debris strewn across the road.

The NYPD says paramedics took the woman behind the wheel to Lincoln Hospital, where she is expected to recover.

No one else was hurt, according to police.
